Robert

Robert came to the College to continue his Motor Vehicle career and although Rob came from Dursley he decided that Weston College was the best place for him to upskill.

Once Rob started the Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, it became evident very quickly that he wished to gain as much knowledge as possible to allow him to advance and achieve his goal. Earlier in the year we invited Sytner Mercedes in to talk to our learners where Rob impressed with his enthusiasm and determination and was offered an interview in which he was offered a full-time role.

Whilst Rob continued with his Level 3 and working at Sytner Mercedes, Rob entered the WorldSkills competition with IMI and quickly progressed to the semi-finals.

Robert is currently in a full-time position with our Career Excellence Hub endorser Sytner Mercedes as a Service Technician.

Robert won Motor Vehicle Student of the Year and Adult Student of the Year at Celebration of Success 2023.
